WELCOME TO THE DRAMA DEPARTMENT
Mr R Payne
Drama is taught to all students in Years 7- 9. Students will gather knowledge and understanding of dramatic skills and conventions through the practical study of relevant topics. In doing this, students will be making sense of the world they live in and developing important qualities of imagination, creativity, communication, working with others to a common purpose and artistic appreciation and evaluation.
In Years 10 and 11 students wishing to follow a GCSE course may do so with the OCR Examination Board. It is a practical course with a small written element, culminating in a performance of a devised play to an examiner.
Drama Club is after school allowing students to extend their talents, with work often aimedat a major production.
The Creative Arts Faculty works together over the year to produce concerts, school productions, assemblies and a variety of special events. |
